From the collision model, energy transferred during planetary ball mill process can be calculated.
Milling energy calculated from the collision model was in good agreement with the result from the measurement system of electrical power consumption during milling process.
Milling energy can be used for describing or predicting the relationship between process variables and the characteristics of end powder product, based on the theories. Milling maps with reaction(s) during milling process like amorphization or formation of intermetallics clearly supports this idea.
